Tampa is buzzing with excitement as October 12 approaches. Latin singer and entertainer Paula Sofia is gearing up to not only launch her original song "Esta Noche" but also to partner with attorney Danielle Hernandez for the groundbreaking debut of Agatha’s Fund.
This special event at Sorry Not Public promises to be a night of unforgettable music, community, and a cause close to Paula’s heart—supporting those affected by domestic violence and immigration challenges.
We caught up with Paula Sofia to dive into the story behind "Esta Noche," her collaboration with Danielle Hernandez, and why this event is going to be an absolute must-attend.
Q: Paula, your song 'Esta Noche' is debuting at this event. Can you tell us more about it and what inspired its release alongside the launch of Agatha’s Fund?
Paula Sofia (grinning with excitement): "Oh my gosh, 'Esta Noche' is a song that means the world to me. It’s a romantic story, all about that electric feeling when you see someone for the first time and just know there’s something special. It’s about that moment in the park—you see someone, your heart skips a beat, and you start imagining all the possibilities. The song is filled with the nerves, the excitement, and the hope of what could be if you take a chance on love.
When Danielle approached me about Agatha’s Fund, I felt this immediate connection. The song is about opening yourself up to love, and Agatha’s Fund is about opening doors for people who need support, who need hope. It just clicked, you know? Both are about new beginnings, and it felt so powerful to bring them together. This is more than just a song release—it’s a movement."
Q: It sounds like you’re really pouring your heart into this event. What can attendees expect from the night?
Paula Sofia (eyes lighting up): "Oh, it’s going to be a night to remember! First of all, we have a whole lineup of amazing things planned. DJ Rikor will be spinning, Chef Rosana is bringing her incredible charcuterie boards, plus we have more surprises in store! Everyone gets a complimentary drink to start the night, and every $25 donation goes directly to Agatha’s Fund, so people can feel good knowing they’re making a real impact.
But for me, the big moment is going to be performing 'Esta Noche' live for the first time. I can’t wait to feel that energy in the room, to share that moment with everyone. There’s something magical about performing a song for the first time, especially when it’s your own, and especially when it’s tied to something as meaningful as this."
Q: How did you and Danielle Hernandez come together for this incredible cause?
Paula Sofia: "Danielle is an absolute powerhouse! She and I crossed paths this year, and we both share a passion for making a difference in the community. When she told me about her vision for Agatha’s Fund, I knew I wanted to be involved. She’s so committed to helping people who are going through some of the hardest moments of their lives—whether it’s domestic violence or immigration struggles—and her passion is infectious.
We just clicked, and we started brainstorming ways to make this launch unforgettable. I mean, Danielle and I share this belief that we can use our platforms—her with her legal expertise, me with my music—to create real, positive change. And here we are, ready to make it happen!"
Q: 'Esta Noche' marks your debut as a songwriter. How does it feel to finally release your own song?
Paula Sofia (beaming): "It’s surreal, honestly. Writing 'Esta Noche' was such a personal journey for me, and now to share it with the world feels like a dream. It’s not just about the music—it’s about telling my story, and in a way, sharing a piece of my heart with everyone.
The song is playful, passionate, and filled with that thrill of possibility. It’s about love at first sight, but also about believing in those moments that make life exciting and unpredictable. Performing it live for the first time, especially at an event like this, is going to be pure magic. I want people to feel what I felt when I wrote it—nervous, excited, and full of hope!"
Q: What are you hoping people will take away from the event?
Paula Sofia (with determination): "I hope they leave feeling moved. Moved by the music, yes, but also moved by the cause. We’re coming together not just to celebrate, but to make a difference. Agatha’s Fund is about giving people who are going through really tough situations the legal support they need to take back control of their lives. If we can inspire even one person to get involved, to help someone, or even to just take a moment and reflect on how they can make a difference, then we’ve done something incredible.
And selfishly, I hope people fall in love with 'Esta Noche'! I hope they dance, sing along, and leave with the song stuck in their heads! (laughs)"
Q: Finally, what would you say to someone who’s on the fence about attending?
Paula Sofia (grinning): "What are you waiting for?! This is going to be such a special night. You’re not just coming to a concert—you’re coming to be part of something bigger. It’s going to be a night of music, love, and making a real difference. So, come dance with us, enjoy some amazing food, and let’s make an impact together. Trust me, you don’t want to miss this!"
